Under the awesome direction of Coach Warren The MSC U16 racers faced another challenging Giant Slalom course this time at the Heights of Horseshoe. (you don't often see a downhill course where you need to go uphill....)

Under the awesome direction of Coach Warren The MSC U16 racers faced a challenging Slalom course. (a 4 hour race) and (Joys of the new computer program not working creating an hour delay after the race) Fortunately Snow Valley has a Tubing Park.

The new scoring system puts all racers for all teams against each other individually rather than the previous team against team competitions. Only the top 5 woman, and the top 5 men get recognition of the entire field of 94 racers.
The Woman: Out of 54 Racers
7th place: Annabelle Ros (28.6 29.1 total 57.7)
10th place: Rachel May (29.7 29.3 total 59.0)
14th place: Lise Grant (29.9 32.1 total 1:02.0)
25th place: Kelsi Murdy (36.3 32.3 total 1:08.6)
35th place: Samantha Allison (37.5 38.4 total 1:15.9) her time probably equaled her temperature, hope she's feeling better real soon.
Our Woman's team placed 3rd overall out of the 6 teams.
For the Men: Out of 40 Racers
19th place: Patrick Gogan (31.0 30.4 total 1:01.4)
23rd place: Ryan Lihou (32.7 31.9 total 1:04.6)
DQ'd: Graydon Grant (DQ gate 22 got him good on the first race, 27.21 on the second)
DQ'd: Chris Loma (DQ gate 22 also got him on the first race, and gate 21 got him on the second)
The MSC Blurr U14 team had a successful race on Saturday January 19th hosted by the Craigleith Ski Club.
Special credit goes to our top ten finishers; Addie Howell placed 2nd among 41 girls, Kate Gogan placed 8th. For boys, Gage Magee placed 4th among 41 boys, and Matthew Grant placed 8th.
In team scores, the boys were 2nd of 6 and the girls were 5th combining to produce a third place overall finish.
Their next race will be at Heights of Horseshoe next Saturday.
