Hello Everyone,
It has been fantastic to see so many people enjoying the amazing conditions that we have at Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area (HVHSA) and the Muskoka Ski Club (MSC). We have been operating under the Red Zone Restrictions and providing the services that we are allowed to offer according to the Province of Ontario and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU).
On Monday, March 1, 2021, SMDHU will be moving into the Grey – Lockdown Zone. Fortunately, we will still be able to operate the ski area in the Grey Zone but there will be further restrictions in place. The situation regarding the stages of Re-Opening Ontario has been changing very rapidly at times and the announcement late on Friday, February 26, 2021, has not left much time to clearly define the exact restrictions that we will have to implement. As we find out more details, we will share them with you.
Information that we can share at this time is that as of Monday, March 1, 2021,
– HVHSA will not be able to offer lessons or rentals.
– MSC will not be able to offer programs for our young athletes.
– Daily lift ticket inventory will be reduced.
– Food and Beverage will be take-out only.
– The Chalet will be available only to pick-up tickets, Food & Beverage and for use of the washrooms.
– There will be no opportunities to warm-up or eat inside the chalet.
For those who have already booked and purchased lessons, our Snow School will be reaching out to you directly to deal with your cancellation. We regret that we must cancel all of our lessons but will do so to be in compliance with Ontario legislation. Please be patient as it will take us some time to get to everyone, but we will!
Both MSC and HVHSA take the safety of our Members, Guests and Staff very seriously. We will follow the regulations imposed on us closely and keep you informed of new developments as they arise. It is not clear how long SMDHU will be in the Grey Zone. When these regulations change, we will keep everyone informed as to how and when the changes occur. Please do your part wear a mask, social distance and do not travel unnecessarily. We will keep offering a safe winter recreational amenity and hope that a healthy physical activity makes these strange times of COVID a little easier to endure.
