Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Event Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of various events. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a passion for creating memorable experiences. This role requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and effective communication to ensure that every event meets the expectations of our clients and stakeholders.
NOTE: Compensation is based on a seasonal contract.
Duties
- Develop and manage event plans from conception to completion, ensuring all details are executed flawlessly.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, objectives, and budgetary constraints for each event.
- Coordinate logistics including venue selection, catering, audiovisual needs, transportation, and accommodations.
- Implement digital marketing strategies to promote events through various channels including social media, email campaigns, and SEO tactics.
- Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify opportunities for new events or enhancements to existing ones.
- Manage budgets effectively, ensuring all expenses are tracked and reported accurately.
- Utilize analytics tools to measure the success of events and gather insights for future improvements.
- Oversee on-site event management, ensuring all aspects run smoothly during the event day.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, sponsors, and partners to enhance the quality of events.
- Prepare post-event reports summarizing outcomes, feedback, and recommendations for future events.
Introduction
Reporting to the General Manager, the Events and Marketing Manager will be a full-time seasonal position, paid on a salary basis. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the events, products, and services offered at Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area (HVHSA) and will promote these through the creation and execution of a comprehensive Events and Marketing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, combined with an ability to plan, organize, and problem-solve, are essential for success.
Scope
The Events and Marketing Manager plays a key role in the management team and collaborates with other departments to deliver a safe and exceptional guest experience. During peak times, the Manager will assist in other departments as needed. In consultation with the General Manager, the Events and Marketing Manager will make decisions aligned with the budget, policies, and procedures governing the Events and Marketing Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an annual Events and Marketing Plan, incorporating social media, radio, and print strategies.
- Plan and manage a full calendar of events for Members and the public.
- Oversee and update the HVHSA website to ensure timely and accurate information.
- Create and implement a Membership sales plan aimed at new member acquisition.
- Collaborate with hotels and resorts for partnership opportunities.
- Provide daily snow reports during the season.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Technical Skills and Qualifications
- Proven event planning and coordination experience, including budget management and vendor negotiations.
- Excellent event project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proven experience in digital marketing, including social media management, email campaigns, and web content creation.
- Proficiency with marketing platforms such as Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, and email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact).
- Experience with website content management. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress or Wix.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and adjust strategies accordingly to meet performance goals.
- Experience with graphic design tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) or Canva is a plus.
