Summary:
The Chalet Maintenance worker is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient operation of our facilities. This role requires a versatile individual with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
The Chalet Maintenance worker should be available to work during the holidays and weekends.
The Chalet Maintenance worker will work under the Indoor Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Building Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, and repairing door hardware.
- Conduct minor plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing faucets.
- Perform minor electrical repairs, such as replacing switches and outlets.
- Repair and maintain walls, floors, and ceilings, including patching holes, painting, and installing flooring.
- Monitor HVAC systems, including changing filters and performing basic troubleshooting.
- Grounds, Entrances & Pathways:
- Clear entrances and walkways of snow and debris.
- Maintain and repair exterior chalet issues.
- Ensure grounds are clean and free of hazards.
- Parking Lot:
- Perform routine maintenance on snowblowers, including inspections, lubrication, and cleaning.
- Supervise and assist Parking Lot Crew with managing guests, directing the crew to keep active clearing trouble areas, managing litter, etc.
- During operating days arrive before opening to make sure parking lot posts and signs are cleared of snow and upright and in place.
- Make sure all Members’ parking signs are in place and alert supervisor if any are in need of repair or replacement.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- General Duties:
- Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize tasks.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Assist with moving furniture and equipment for functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience/skill set.
- Proven experience in general maintenance or a related field.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
- Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Valid driver’s license (may be required).
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vocational training or certification in a related field.
- Experience with HVAC systems.
- Experience with general building maintenance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Must be able to climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Schedule / Hours:
- This is a seasonal and per job position.
- Hourly during the winter season & piece work during season and off season.
- We operate from early December until the end of March (can expect full time hours during this period).
- Off season April to November your duties may vary depending on the work/maintenance requirements.
